The primary objective of this internship including a Master Thesis is to support BMW’s Product Management Department in evaluating the potential influence of Chinese automotive brands and their potential strategic implications for BMW’s product positioning and portfolio in the U.S. market.

The intern will write their Master thesis in alignment with this scope while being fully embedded in the Departments daily work environment.

The role involves close collaboration with several teams withing the Product Management department, including the Product Strategy & Market Intelligence Team, all Product Advocate Teams, the Component Strategy & Product Portfolio Team and the Digital Products & Operations Team.
In addition to the thesis project, the intern is expected to contribute to day-to-day support topics, offering valuable assistance across ongoing tasks relevant to the Product Management Department.

WHAT AWAITS YOU.

  • As a Market Analysis Intern, you will Conduct in-depth research and analysis on emerging Chinese automotive brands
  • Evaluate product attributes, positioning, and technological innovations of key Chinese OEMs
  • Assess their potential influence on BMW’s U.S. product strategy (short-, mid-, and long-term)
  • Support the development of strategic recommendations for the U.S. product portfolio
  • Collaborate with various product, component, and digital product teams
  • Participate in internal workshops, presentations, and alignment meetings
  • Provide support on day-to-day strategy and planning topics
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations and briefs for management

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.

•              Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program at an accredited college or university

•              Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)

•              Have completed at least 60 college credits or be at least a rising Junior

•              Field of study: Finance, Business Analytics, Engineering, Risk Management, Statistics or a related field

•              Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript

•              Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)

•              Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)

  •            Strong analytical and research skills
  •            Strong interest in automotive industry trends, product strategy, and international markets
  •   Experience in product management, strategy, consulting, or market research
  •   High proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

This is a full-time internship position for our Fall Rotation, from September 8, 2025 through March 20, 2026 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.30

The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20

The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
