We want to make this an even greater part of our future, so we are currently seeking a Technical Lead Associate for our Central Maintenance Workshop.

What awaits you: 

• As a Central Maintenance Technical Lead Associate, you will be responsible for leading, coaching and training a team of technical associates within the BIW Central Workshop.
• Driving the overall performance, you will put your problem-solving skills into practice and push for continuous improvement to ensure the workshop targets are exceeded.
• You will be a champion of ensuring that suitable processes are carried out to comply with legal requirements, to include safe working practices, accident prevention, also understanding and supporting risk assessments for workshop activities.
• The opportunity to be a key interface with internal stakeholders and engage with external stakeholders, to ensure all equipment and components leaving the workshop are of the highest quality, to prevent stoppages and ensure Production OEE and Technical availability targets are met. This will also include conditional monitoring and assessment of Manufacturing equipment, lineside Maintenance team support, and co-ordination of the Central Maintenance Specialists to ensure a high level of technical support during Manufacturing stoppages.
• Your remit will include taking accountability for steering the Maintenance activities within the workshop to achieve our high right first time target, identify potential improvements to our internal processes and quality assurance of our finished products.
• You will be responsible for working with and supporting the introduction of any innovative process or equipment improvement topics. This will aim to drive innovative solutions and facilitate improvements to enable the workshop to deliver critical support, quality spare parts / materials for the Manufacturing process areas.
• Your duties will include driving the use of "Data" in the business to support better transparency of live information into the areas of operation. This will enhance the ability for process improvement and potential cost saving measures.

What you should bring along:

• Recognised Engineering apprenticeship qualification, Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent is advantageous. Other appropriate experience or qualifications in a related field of manufacturing is valuable.
• Excellent general mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills and knowledge.
• Proven experience within a Manufacturing Maintenance environment.
• Forensic attention to detail for root cause analysis, with a strong working knowledge of BIW equipment standards and equipment functionality.
• Previous leadership experience is beneficial.
