Quality Management International Intern (Fall 2026)

The successful candidate will join the Central Quality Management team at Plant Spartanburg, which is responsible for process quality management. The intern will receive on-the-job training focused on developing new digital solutions to support product and process quality improvements. Responsibilities include planning and supporting digitalization projects that enhance Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and drive departmental efficiencies.
- Learn and work with modern software tools, focusing on app programming, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
- Participate in, or supervise, exciting innovation projects.
- Gain insights into the global innovation network.
- Collaborate with various internal departments in Spartanburg and abroad, as well as external business partners.
- Explore new data and analytics tools (e.g., Snowflake, DART, AWS Quicksight) to optimize existing solutions.
- Receive training on frequently used BMW-specific tools related to Quality and Production Management, such as Quality Analytics, T-Cube, PQM, GAIA, OTD Gen AI Hub, and AWS Quicksight.
- Gain a basic understanding of the complete Production Quality Management system.
- Improve skills in verbal/non-verbal communication, collaboration, problem-solving, organization, teamwork, adaptability, and creativity.
- Understand customer requirements and how to ensure they are met consistently in a dynamic production environment.
- Balance daily operational tasks while working on independent projects.
- Gain hands-on experience working with LLMs and Generative AI tools.
- Experience working with members of a global meeting circle.
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (i.e., Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), Python, and SQL.
- Must be flexible, able to multitask, possess keen time-management skills, and have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be enrolled at a university outside of the United States.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on the US grading scale
- Must have completed a prior BMW internship of at least 3 months in length.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- Must provide the following paperwork in English.
