Predictive Maintenance / Additive Manufacturing Co-op (Fall 2025)

Description

 

The Predictive Maintenance co-op will leverage mechanical / electromechanical skillset to support innovation activities in the Central Maintenance department.

This is a co-pp position which requires you to commit to three rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: summer, 2nd rotation: fall, 3rd rotation: spring).

 

The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • Project Plan for rollout of vibration sensors across body shop.
  • Investigate additional sensors / data collection methods that could be used to move to a condition-based maintenance strategy.
  • Design and test concepts for utilizing additive manufacturing to build key replacement components (weld gun shanks, weld gun arms).
  • Support ongoing initiatives in expanding the Additive Manufacturing applications across the body shop
  • Support Predictive Maintenance projects and initiatives

 

Assignment Development Plan:

  • Opportunities to learn about additive manufacturing in depth through design and testing of designs in real-life applications
  • Opportunity to be to contribute to the roll-out of a predictive maintenance system at an early stage.
  • Exposure to industrial automation and the maintenance of the equipment involved therein.
  • Opportunity to present in the weekly team meeting as well as updates on projects in other management rounds as milestones in projects are reached.

 

Qualifications

  • Pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Must be enrolled student during all three rotations.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE: May 19th – August 8th, 2025.
