New Model Customer Quality Intern (Summer 2026)

Description

With a focus on customer quality, the associate will gain direct, hands-on experience working with the newest models offered by the BMW Group. This internship provides a unique opportunity to engage with the KNG (Kundennaher Großversuch) fleet—one of the first sets of production vehicles driven by internal customers— playing a critical role in ensuring product excellence.

The associate will be responsible for monitoring the quality performance of the KNG fleet, providing transparency and timely notifications regarding any series quality issues that arise. They will collaborate closely with the department’s analysis group to investigate and determine root causes of these issues.  Be of support to the German department responsible for the international KNG Program in driving effective problem resolution. The role involves coordinating further analysis to meet plant testing requirements, presenting clear and concise problem analyses, and engaging with relevant associates to gather input and schedule vehicles for detailed examination or repair. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management, offering a well-rounded experience in quality assurance and cross-functional collaboration.

A successful candidate in this role will possess a strong engineering foundation paired with excellent communication skills, as they will be working with international colleagues and may have the opportunity to interact directly with plant executives. The ideal intern will demonstrate a passion for learning and a proactive approach to problem-solving, thriving in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and collaboration are key. 

 

Qualifications

  • Majors: tomotive Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Business Administration
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to work independently with the confidence to ask for help
  • Time and task management skills
  • Desire to learn 
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE May 18th – August 7th, 2026.
