Logistics Device Specialist (TX-154)

Description

 

Plans, documents, implements and maintains strategies. Performs programming and configuration on Android and other mobile devices including testing.

Provides technical support to Physical Logistics groups for resolving BVIS, Android scanner and Pro-Glove related issues.

Plans and ensures adherence to annual budget.

Audits the inventory of devices in detail.

Ensures compliance of devices and systems to information protection and other security standards.

Supports the installation of systems-related hardware components for the Physical Logistics department.

Assists with the Physical Logistics technical training and development program by conducting training classes, providing technical documentation, conducting assessments, etc.

Ensures devices and systems are sustainable and align with overall strategic initiatives.

Creates Service Level Agreement (SLA) with internal and external IT support members.

Works closely with IT and Operations departments to coordinate relevant system modifications and upgrades.

Actively participates in plant and network Change Control Boards (CCB) and Centers of Competency (CoC).

Recommends, configures and or implements process improvements changes and enhancements to ensure optimal and efficient operational conditions.

Completes special projects as assigned. Prepares reports on the status of projects, inventory, budget, security and other key metrics.

Documents procedures and standards.

Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.

Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS degree in a technical field; OR AA/AS degree in a technical field AND 2 years of professional IT experience in a manufacturing environment; OR The equivalent of 4 years of professional IT experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in coordinating and completing IT systems or improvement projects.
  • 5+ years of professional Java/C++ programming experience including configuring mobile devices (Android preferred).
  • 5+ years SQL experience (Oracle preferred). 3+ years of professional project or team leadership expereince.
  • BVIS certification (to be obtained within 6 months of hire); CompTIA A+. E)
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
  • 5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • 5+ years of process improvement or process planning skills.
  • 5+ years of SAP skills.
  • 3+ years knowledge of Logistics Planning tools: LPP, VISIO, TAIS / LTERM.
