The Customer Payments and Operations Intern will be mainly responsible for the timely and accurate processing of incoming cheques, electronic customer payments, western union payments and dealer terminations for the BMW Group Financial Services Retail Lease and Loan portfolio.

Key accountabilities

  • Generate daily NSF banking reports.
  • Process and reconcile all returned items on a daily basis and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Monitor post-dated cheque file and process all incoming cheques, western union payments, auction sales, refunds and outgoing cheques.
  • Perform daily payment reconciliation for cheques, automated withdrawals, dealer terminations and auction sales between the Bank and Contract Management System.
  • Monitor insurance premiums and account statuses and work with Insurance Providers on receiving pro-rated refunds where applicable.
  • Respond to ad-hoc interdepartmental requests and inquiries.
  • Assist with project requirements and testing as required.
  • As necessary, the candidate will also perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years relevant work experience in automotive operations or payment processing role preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Analytical, with good research skills, and a good problem solver.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated and results driven, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SAP and/or Tableau an asset.
  • Ability to work both independently, and in a team.
