Job Description: 

What awaits you?

  • Quality planning and control
    • Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans, control plans, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria for fuel tank assemblies across development, prototype, pre‑series and series phases.
    • Ensure all quality documentation is approved and available for audits and production use.
    • Process series audit and ISIR submit report to customer.
  • Prototype validation and production readiness
    • Plan, execute and validate prototype and pre‑series tests (including leak, pressure, vibration, NVH and crash‑related verifications) and ensure formal sign‑off for production readiness.
    • Coordinate first article inspections and measurement system analyses (MSA/R&R) to confirm measurement reliability.
    • In‑process assembly line quality assurance: Monitor line performance, investigate in‑process nonconformities, execute containment actions and drive permanent corrective measures.
  • Supplier quality management :
    • Establish supplier quality requirements (Incoming inspection criteria) for fuel tank components and assessments and performance reviews.
    • Lead supplier corrective actions, validate effectiveness, and collaborate with purchasing to escalate unresolved supplier risks.
    • Part Quality AQ, Self-announcement, Part Claims, MCDR and block parts (Quarantine) / Scrap parts.
  • Customer and internal quality communication
    • Serve as primary quality interface for internal stakeholders and customers on fuel tank topics; provide timely technical responses, status reports and risk assessments.
    • Prepare and present quality status updates, launch readiness reports and field incident responses to project leadership and customers.
  • Problem solving and corrective action
    • Lead root cause analyses for complex components, assembly or field failures using structured methods (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA) and ensure implementation and verification of corrective actions.
    • Problem management process (PMP) steering in each technology and Q-Reporting in each technology.
    • Track and close quality incidents, nonconformance reports (NCRs) and CAPAs within agreed timelines.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Minimum experience: Typically, 5-8 years in automotive quality roles, with demonstrable experience in fuel system or fluid‑containing component quality preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry.
  • Hands‑on experience with in‑process assembly line quality, prototype validation and series launch activities.
  • Proven supplier quality management experience, including PPAP/PPF processes, supplier audits, and supplier corrective action ownership.
  • Strong background in failure analysis and structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, fishbone, FMEA).
  • Experience with measurement system analysis (MSA/R&R), statistical process control (SPC), and process capability studies (Cp/Cpk).
  • Knowledge of relevant safety, emissions and regulatory requirements for fuel systems and leak‑tightness testing methods.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO/TS/IATF standards) and compliance documentation.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma tools ferred).
  • Exposed to multiple functions in an organizations like Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Purchase etc., Project Management Skills. 
  • Ability to question, challenge, motivate and coach highly skilled, decision marking and educated staff.
  • Application and in-depth knowledge of BMW Group standards and methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant materials technologies.
  • Good personnel management, excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of problem solving and the application of quality tools / processes.
  • Straight and convincing in discussions and conflicts.
  • Strong commitment to targets and schedules.
