Specialist, Fire & Security Planner

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fire and Security Planner to join our team at BMW’s Oxford and Swindon plants. In this role, you will be responsible for risk-based strategic planning, project management, procurement, fiscal planning, and budgeting related to fire and security operations. You will act as the primary coordinator and liaison across multiple stakeholders, ensuring compliance with BMW governance and security standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What awaits you

  • Lead risk-based strategic planning, project management, procurement, and budgeting in support of the Fire and Security function.
  • Manage security and fire protection projects to safeguard personnel, assets, and production processes at Oxford and Swindon plants.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of BMW group-wide security standards to reduce risks related to unauthorised access, fires, and natural disasters.
  • Oversee security planning activities such as access management, CCTV, and technical measures within the region.
  • Prepare and manage budget forecasts and investment plans aligned with project and future business needs.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to address risks and weaknesses in fire protection and security processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across all organisational levels to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

What you should bring

  • Degree-level education or equivalent technical competence, or significant relevant experience related to BMW UK&I sites.
  • Proven experience in security, risk management, or project management with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid project management capabilities, including budgeting and investment proposal experience (advantageous).
  • Demonstrated decisiveness, initiative, and technical leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of fire protection, security functions, processes, and ability to align these with business requirements.
  • Proficiency in IT tools including MS Teams, Outlook, Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, along with a full UK driving licence.
