We develop innovative packaging solutions tailored to the extreme demands of international motorsport logistics. From day one, you will be a valued member of our team, contributing your ideas in a dynamic environment.

What awaits you?

  • You will analyze existing packaging concepts for motorsport components and identify optimization potentials regarding robustness, efficiency and sustainability.
  • Furthermore, you support the development of innovative packaging solutions tailored to motorsport transport conditions such as air freight, sea freight and trackside logistics.
  • In addition, you help document current packaging and logistics processes and derive standardized best-practice workflows.
  • Moreover, you participate in on-site evaluations at workshops, race team facilities and logistics hubs to collect data and understand real-world constraints.
  • You will assist in creating digital models of packaging concepts and simulating load cases and handling processes.
  • Furthermore, you support deriving key KPIs such as packing density, material robustness and process efficiency for concept validation.
  • You independently manage work packages within your thesis and receive regular mentoring and technical guidance from the BMW M Motorsport logistics team.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Studies in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, logistics, industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Strong interest in motorsport and high-performance logistics.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, design principles and transport mechanics.
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulation software is a plus.
  • Analytical thinking and structured approach to complex problem-solving.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently with regular mentoring feedback.
  • Very good German and English skills.
