In our team for environmental and social standards as well as due diligence in the supplier network, we develop scalable ESG risk models to effectively implement regulatory requirements such as the CSDDD.

What awaits you?

  • Development of an LLM based ESG risk register that automatically maps unstructured information to regulatory risk categories.
  • Creation of a scalable source and data corpus and development of suitable methods for structuring unstructured information.
  • Design and implementation of a prototype for assessing abstract ESG risks as a basis for risk based supplier prioritization.
  • Iterative evaluation and improvement of the approach based on defined quality criteria and expert feedback.
  • Preparation of results for different target groups and integration into internal and external formats.
  • Publication of research findings in collaboration with Ulm University and contribution to the scientific dialogue on ESG, supply chain management, and artificial intelligence.

What should you bring along?

  • A completed master’s degree with very good results, or an equivalent qualification, in business administration, economics, management, industrial engineering, business informatics, or a comparable field of study.
  • Fulfilment, or the ability to fulfil in the near future, the formal admission requirements for a doctoral degree at Ulm University in the field of Dr. rer. pol.
  • Strong interest in sustainable supply chains, ESG risk management, and regulatory topics such as the CSDDD or the German Supply Chain Act.
  • Experience in data analysis and programming, for example with Python, and an interest in natural language processing and large language models.
  • Knowledge in prompting or model evaluation is an advantage.
  • Very good English skills in spoken and written form; German language skills are desirable.
