In the early phase of vehicle development, the design of the body structure plays a crucial role. In order to increase efficiency and precision in this area, the aim of this thesis is to develop the foundations for a system that generates optimal body concepts based on various target variables using computer-based methods.

 

What awaits you

  • Research on the state of the art in the field of automated, generative body development and multi-objective optimization.
  • Analysis of requirements and challenges in selecting and placing body components.
  • Evaluation of different optimization methods for the defined problem, particularly with respect to scalability.
  • Implementation of the identified method(s) as a proof of concept (PoC).
  • Analysis and evaluation of the developed algorithms in terms of their efficiency and accuracy.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Study in the field of computer science, mathematics, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a comparable degree program.
  • Solid knowledge of the Python programming language.
  • Experience with AI/optimization frameworks.
  • Desirable: An understanding of the fundamentals of vehicle construction and body development.
  • Self-initiative, motivation, and the ability to work independently, as well as enjoyment of working in a team.
