Our team at the BMW Group develops and operates the GenAI Self-Service Platform 'Group AI Assistant' to empower employees in optimizing processes and improving products. During your internship, you will support us in driving sustainable AI transformation by contributing to a strong platform for efficiency, quality, re-use, and compliance.

 

What awaits you?

  • You will support the optimization of a high-performance, Large Language Model-based, multimodal Retrieval Augmented Generation pipeline.
  • Furthermore, you help to evaluate and implement innovative approaches for hierarchical agentic Retrieval-Augmented Generation to address complex information needs efficiently.
  • In addition, you contribute to evaluating and implementing various parsing and chunking strategies as well as embedding models regarding quality, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Moreover, you will assist in improving the presentation of information across different modalities such as images, graphics, and tables.
  • You will support an agile project environment with an international development team.
  • Furthermore, you help to share insights and successes with your team and key decision-makers within the company.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Studies in data science, computer science, software engineering, business informatics, engineering or a similar field.
  • Proficient knowledge of English or German.
  • Experience with Python, machine learning, and generative AI such as large language models, chatbots, and prompting techniques.
  • Ideally, some initial experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and knowledge graphs.
  • Experience with agile software development such as Git, Scrum, or Jira.
  • Structured approach and analytical thinking skills.
