Specialist: Marketing and Events
Job Purpose
Responsible for planning & implementing the marketing & communications plan through market research, advertising, promotions, events, incentive programmes, marketing collateral and publicity. Coordinate and oversea marketing activities whilst identifying marketing opportunities to increase the presence of BMW Group SF Brands & their product offering in the marketplace. The Marketing specialist’s role also includes developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to enhance the retail experience and drive sales. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute campaigns, create visually appealing in-Retailer displays, and integrate online and offline efforts for a seamless customer journey. Customer engagement through events, personalized communication, and partnerships is vital. Budget management, leadership, and brand consistency round out their responsibilities, staying ahead of industry trends, and contributing to the overall success of BMW Financial Services South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & implement marketing & communication plan to increase Brand exposure.
- Writing, editing and communication of creative briefs, presentations, promotional literature, newsletters, etc.
- Marketing Events, planning & execution.
- Support & guide Retailer Network regarding National Campaign/advertising initiatives & media plan.
- To provide Marketing updates & support to Regional Managers.
- Support business lines with POS development.
- Daily Coordination of Retailer Incentive Programmes.
- Participate & present in stakeholder meeting on Marketing updates & initiatives.
- Monitor processes & implement improvements to enhance productivity.
- Ensure that relevant sign off processes are adhered to.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Ensure all locally developed creative marketing material undergo brand review and adhere to brand guidelines.
- Ensure Brand Standards, Brand separation, emails, templates, signatures, fonts, in both internal and external communications are adhered to.
- Steering & coordination of Agencies.
- Provide support to Retailer Network to increase BMW Group SF Brand presence.
- Driving Financial Services POS through ongoing collaboration with SF Sales, NSC Sales and Retailers.
- Responsible for the running of the Retailer Incentive Program for BMW and ALPHERA Financial Services, this includes the points payout verification. administration and the timeous turnaround of point allocation and reporting.
- Responsible for translating & identifying opportunities for the SF Marketing strategy to the Retailer Network.
- Planning and managing of budget.
- Supporting Retailers to fulfil their planned marketing plans/ activities through the Retailer Marketing Fund.
- Support Retailer Network in terms of SF CI.
- Identify opportunities for collaborations with complementary brands, automotive influencers, and local businesses to expand the reach and impact of marketing efforts.
- Adherence to relevant company polices & guidelines, like Sales & marketing guidelines, Sponsorship guidelines, etc.
Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
- 3 to 5 years previous experience in a similar Marketing function.
- Broad understanding of the business (motor industry & vehicle finance).
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey messages to diverse audiences.
- Creative thinking and the ability to develop innovative marketing ideas.
- Proficiency in market research and problem solving to make informed decisions.
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple campaigns and tasks.
- Strong inter-personal skills & collaborative nature to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of branding and the ability to maintain consistent brand messaging.
- Strong organizational skills to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Strong time management with multi-tasking abilities.
