FINANCIAL CONTROLLING TRAINEE

 

BMW MEXICO

 

The Financial Controlling Trainee supports the Finance and Controlling team at BMW Mexico in monitoring and optimizing wholesale costs, investments, and contribution margins across local and LATAM markets. In this role, you will assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring data accuracy and supporting decision-making through insights and automated reporting. Working closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Finance, you will contribute to improving financial performance, strengthening internal controls, and driving efficiency through data-driven and digital solutions. 

 

WHAT AWAITS YOU?

  • Support internal controls, compliance, and risk assessments related to wholesales cost reporting and financial integrity.
  • Define and monitor contribution margins for importer markets; verify data accuracy and analyze margin components by product, channel, and market.
  • Operate margin-analytic frameworks, including price/mix analysis, volume leverage, and channel profitability assessments.
  • Evaluate cost of wholesale requests from the business areas (e.g. Marketing), challenging them to optimize resource and support sales operation.
  • Support internal controls, compliance, and risk assessments related to contribution margin reporting and financial integrity.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING ALONG?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in academic projects, student organizations, internships, or prior roles that involved coordinating teams, driving initiatives, or owning deliverables (incl. volunteering activities).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar is desirable).
  • Solid knowledge of financial budgeting, forecasting and reporting concepts.
  • Ability to manipulate data, build financial models, and manage data governance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication in Spanish & English. Any German proficiency is advantageous.
