What awaits you?

• You steer internal and external international development teams to develop and operate a scalable, secure, and high-performance AI platform (In-Vehicle & Cloud).
• Furthermore, you collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and architects to design and implement APIs, services, and platform functionalities.
• You guide internal customers, i.e. data scientists within the BMW engineering department, through the complete AI lifecycle – from data preparation to development, training, and productive operation of machine learning and generative AI solutions.
• You analyze stakeholder requirements and translate them into scalable AI platform features.
• In addition, you present the Connected AI Platform in the BMW AI Community to share best practices and ensure platform adoption.
• You evaluate emerging technological trends, such as Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and Agents, and contribute your expertise to the continued evolution of our AI landscape.

What should you bring along?

• University degree in AI, (business) computer science, mathematics, or a comparable qualification with a strong IT focus.
• At least four years of experience as a technical product owner in the AI domain, including experience in steering development teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical features.
• Track record in steering AI development teams in a technical product owner role or similar.
• Hands-on experience in machine learning or generative AI (e.g., Jupyter, PyTorch, TensorFlow, SageMaker, LangChain, Haystack) and proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, as well as API technologies.
• E/E Automotive know-how (e.g. In-Vehicle Software Integration, Boardnet Communication) is preferred.
• Excellent English and German language skills.
