As a Forward Deployed Engineer in Quality Management Systems at BMW Group Plant Debrecen you're a crucial part of our vision to revolutionize the way we think about cars.

  In this position, you work as a forward deployed engineer, which means you are embedded directly in the quality organisation rather than developing at a distance from it. You spend your time with the colleagues who inspect, measure and release our vehicles, you come to understand their daily challenges first-hand, and you develop digital solutions together with them — from the first conversation through to the working application.

  • Customer-focused approach – you meet regularly with your internal customers, understand their pain points and requirements, propose solutions and iterate on them together with your customers.
  • Communication & understanding before implementation – you collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, from the production line to senior management, to understand processes, identify requirements and develop practical digital solutions. Throughout your onboarding and beyond, you are supported by experienced colleagues who provide coaching and guidance as you grow into the role.
  • Digitalization & continuous quality improvement – you drive the digitalization and continuous improvement of Quality Management System (QMS) processes, working closely with stakeholders and supporting Q-Lab and the QMS team. You also contribute to the development of standards, tools and methods, helping to share successful solutions across locations.
  • End-to-end responsibility – you accompany your solutions along the entire path: user interface, interfaces, data model, deployment, and the support of the colleagues who work with them afterwards.
  • Innovative technologies – you develop and program digital solutions within the BMW environment, using the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence. Our current environment includes React and TypeScript, AWS and Azure, Palantir Foundry, Python and CI/CD, as well as AI-supported development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and Codex.
  • Data analytics – you interpret and set up data analysis tools and work with complex datasets to identify patterns, derive insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Visible impact – the solutions you develop are used in a running vehicle production within weeks rather than quarters, and you experience directly how your work changes the daily routine of your colleagues.

  What should you bring along?

  • Educational background - You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or a related field. You have good knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Professional experience &motivation to learn - Extensive professional experience is not
  • required. What matters is that you have already built something through your studies, internships, research or personal projects, and that you can explain how you approached it. You are eager to learn, explore new technologies and take ownership of unfamiliar topics, and you are comfortable working in an environment where not every answer is available in advance.
  • Analytical thinking & data orientation – You approach complex challenges in a structured way, enjoy working with data, and use analytical thinking to derive insights and develop effective solutions.
  • Digitalization & AI - You have a strong affinity for digitalization, data analytics and artificial intelligence and are motivated to explore new technologies.
  • Web development and data processing - Having experience in web development is an advantage, for example with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, or Python. An interest in cloud technologies and data platforms is welcome.
  • Communication, collaboration & ownership – You enjoy working with stakeholders from different departments and areas of expertise, from the production line through to senior management. You take ownership of your topics from the first conversation through to the implemented solution and are willing to contribute wherever needed to achieve the best result. Previous experience in stakeholder management is not required; a willingness to learn and develop is what matters most to us.
  • Work schedule - You are willing to work on-site during regular business hours. Remote work may be considered based on alignment with your line manager.
  • Language skills - You speak and write English fluently. Hungarian language knowledge is an advantage.
