As the Head of HR Services you will be responsible to provide local HR Services for our new plant in Debrecen including HR Administration, Payroll, Contact centre and Global Assignments. The role will be key to shaping the HR Services organisation.

 

What awaits you?

  • Work environment - you work at the Communication Center located within the BMW Group Plant Debrecen, in a modern, digitalized, open office-style environment, together with other office employees and your direct teammates. The Communication Center is a state-of-the-art office space equipped with kitchenettes, coffee stations, and ergonomic workstations, and also includes a company cafeteria.
  • Team - You will lead the HR Services team (team coordinators, advisors, administrators), ensuring effective people management, resource planning and full budget responsibility, including tracking and invoice controlling.
  • Service performance – You ensure that all HR Services are delivered according to standard SLAs, while actively managing stakeholders to maintain alignment across all involved functions.
  • Compliance & governance – You provide direction regarding legislation, systems, processes and internal controls to maintain compliance in HR Services. You participate in the development of local agreements related to payroll, HR data administration and time management.
  • Decision-making & consulting – You take decisions and act as a key consultant in all topics related to payroll, HR data administration and time management.
  • Systems & digitalisation – You define system requirements for IT implementations within HR Services and ensure all HR systems remain up-to-date and compliant.
  • Expert consulting – You support local HR in relation to key HR systems such as SAP, Elida (personnel file), CCM (contract creation), ServiceNow (ticketing) and time-recording systems. You represent HR Services in country-specific professional forums.
  • Documentation & knowledge management – You ensure that work instructions are fully documented, up-to-date and aligned with HR Services standards. You maintain the HR Portal to guarantee high-quality information availability for all associates.
  • Audit management – You steer internal and external audits and oversee the follow-up and closure of any resulting actions.
  • Continuous improvement – You drive continuous improvement initiatives through digitalisation, automation and knowledge management to further enhance service quality.

 

What you should bring to the role?

  • Educational background – Bachelor’s degree as a minimum.
  • Work experience – Long-term professional experience in HR Services and/or management, with mandatory hands-on payroll experience, ideally gained in an international company.
  • Legislative knowledge – Solid understanding of local working legislation, especially tax and social security regulations.
  • HR-IT expertise – Deep functional knowledge in HR IT systems, ideally including SAP.
  • Project mindset – Experience in project management and/or HR transformation topics.
  • Leadership experience – At least 5 years of experience in leading people.
  • Language skills – English business fluent in written and spoken form, Hungarian fluent; German is an advantage.
